From a two-acre plot to ten acres of plenty
In 1987, Samuel and Martha Whitfield bought a tired stretch of valley soil and made a simple promise: grow real food, feed real people, and never cut a corner to save a season.
That promise still runs the farm today. Our eldest daughter leads the fields, our son-in-law runs the delivery van, and three of our grandchildren already know their way around a compost pile. Together we rotate cattle, chickens and cover crops across the land, keeping the soil alive so the food can be too.
Everything we sell is grown or sourced within a stone's throw of the farm — because food that travels less simply tastes more.

Stewardship First
The land is borrowed from the next generation. We leave it richer — more humus, more birds, more life — than we found it.
Radical Honesty
If a crop fails, we say so and make it right. No repackaging, no "seasonal" excuses for produce that isn't.
Community Nourishment
We donate a share of every harvest to local food banks, and open the fields so the neighbourhood can learn where food comes from.
Growing through the years
Two acres and a wheelbarrow
Samuel & Martha Whitfield plant the first tomatoes and open a tiny roadside stand on what was then a borrowed field.
Certified organic
After a decade of chemical-free farming, the whole farm earns full organic certification — a title we've renewed every year since.
The next generation steps in
Our daughter Elena takes over the fields, doubles the crop list to 120+ varieties and brings the delivery van to life.
Farm shares go digital
We launch online ordering and doorstep delivery, taking the farm stand into kitchens across the whole county.
